The Australian ABBA show 1988-2023
The Internationally acclaimed BJÖRN AGAIN name and show was created and founded in 1988 in Melbourne, by Australian musician / manager ROD STEPHEN. Designed as a tongue-in-cheek rocked-up light-hearted ABBA satire, the show rapidly achieved a world-wide cult status with critical acclaim and acknowledged for singlehandedly initiating the ABBA revival which brought about ABBA Gold, Muriel’s Wedding and MAMMA MIA! ABBA’s enduring appeal with the success of Voyage is reflected in the ongoing success of Björn Again now in its 35th year, having amassed 5,500 performances in 75 countries having grossed world-wide £45 Million GBP using over 100 international Musicians and Vocalists and 400 technical crew / support staff. Acknowledged from many sources including ABBA’s Agnetha Fältskog, the main aim for Rod, is to keep his typically Australian production at the top and to continue for as long as people want to hear the much-loved ABBA repertoire performed in Björn Again’s unique style as evidenced by the invitations for Björn Again to open the Glastonbury Festival in 1999, 2009 and 2019 (and who knows? maybe 2029!)
